Care Built Around You

About Us

At Thrive, we believe exceptional healthcare starts with listening. We're more than a multidisciplinary clinic—we're a team of chiropractors, massage therapists, and counsellors who work together to provide personalized care that supports your health at every stage of life. Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing ongoing pain, or investing in your long-term wellness, our goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and confident in your care.

About Us
Our Story

How We Came To Be

Thrive was founded on a simple belief: healthcare should feel personal. Too often, people feel rushed through appointments or treated like a diagnosis instead of an individual. We wanted to create something different. Our clinic puts relationships first, welcomes questions, and tailors care to the person, not just their symptoms. By bringing chiropractic care, massage therapy, and counselling together under one roof, we’ve built a collaborative environment where our team can work together when it’s in your best interest. Every decision we make is guided by one goal: helping our patients move, feel, and live better with compassionate, evidence-informed care they can trust.

Healing begins with relationships.

— Dr. Kyle Vandervalk

We Measure Success by Trust

Our goal is to build lasting relationships by providing honest recommendations, thoughtful care, and an exceptional patient experience. Whether someone visits us once or many times over the years, we want every patient to leave feeling they were listened to, respected, and cared for.

Patient-Centred Care

Every patient is unique. We take the time to understand each person's concerns, goals, and lifestyle before developing an individualized treatment plan. We believe healthcare works best when patients are active partners in their care.

Relationships Built on Trust

Trust is earned through honesty, communication, and consistency. We strive to create an environment where patients feel heard, respected, and comfortable asking questions.

Collaborative Care

Our team of chiropractors, massage therapists, and counsellors work together when appropriate to provide coordinated care. By communicating and collaborating, we can better support the whole person—not just a single symptom.

Evidence-Informed Practice

We are committed to providing care that is guided by the best available research, informed by clinical experience, and tailored to each individual's needs and preferences.

Education & Empowerment

We believe patients make the best decisions when they understand their health. We take time to explain our findings, discuss treatment options, and provide practical strategies that help patients feel confident managing their health.

Long-Term Health

Our goal isn't simply to relieve pain today. We want to help people stay active, resilient, and healthy for years to come. Success means helping patients return to the activities that make life meaningful.

Compassion & Respect

Every interaction matters. From the first phone call to the final appointment, we aim to create a welcoming experience where people feel genuinely cared for.

Our Team

Dr. Kyle Vandervalk

D.C.

Dr. Kyle graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2011 and has proudly served Southern Alberta for the past 15 years.
From an early age, Dr. Kyle knew he wanted to work in healthcare. While shadowing a variety of healthcare professionals during high school, he was inspired by the relationships he saw between chiropractors and their patients. He was drawn to becoming the kind of healthcare provider people trusted, looked forward to seeing, and relied on through every stage of life.
Dr. Kyle's approach to care is built on education, collaboration, and trust. He believes patients should understand what's happening in their bodies and feel confident making informed decisions about their health. By taking the time to listen, explain, and work together, he develops individualized care plans that reflect each patient's goals, values, and lifestyle.
While Kyle enjoys helping people recover from injuries and painful conditions, what he finds most rewarding is building lasting relationships with patients and helping them stay active throughout every stage of life. Seeing families return year after year—and having the opportunity to care for multiple generations—is one of the greatest privileges of his career.
Outside the clinic, Kyle enjoys spending time with his family, skiing and staying active. His goal is simple: to help patients move well, stay active, and enjoy a healthier future.

Dr. Benoit LaForge

D.C.

Dr. Benoit chose chiropractic because he wanted to help people get back to doing what they love. Having benefited from chiropractic care himself while growing up, he experienced firsthand how it helped him stay active and continue participating in the sports he enjoyed. That experience inspired him to pursue a career where he could make the same difference for others.
Dr. Benoit takes an evidence-based approach to patient care, combining thorough assessments, clear communication, and individualized treatment plans to help patients reach their goals safely and effectively. He believes the best outcomes come from working collaboratively with patients, ensuring they understand their condition, feel confident in their care, and play an active role in their recovery.
He enjoys caring for a wide variety of patients, particularly those looking to stay active or return to the activities they enjoy after an injury. Whether recovering from pain or working toward better performance, Dr. Benoit is passionate about helping patients move with confidence and get back to the things that matter most to them.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Benoit enjoys staying active through golf, running, and strength training. He also likes solving puzzles, playing games, and spending time with his dog, Mojo.

Edward Telfer

RMT

Edward Telfer became a Registered Massage Therapist after spending years managing his own chronic pain. Through that experience, he saw firsthand how the right treatment, education, and guidance can help people move better, reduce pain, and return to the activities they enjoy. That journey inspired him to pursue a career focused on helping others do the same.
Edward takes an evidence-informed, results-driven approach to care that combines thorough assessment, hands-on treatment, and patient education. He believes understanding the cause of pain is an important part of recovery and works collaboratively with each patient to develop practical treatment plans that support their goals both inside and outside the clinic.
He enjoys working with a wide variety of patients, particularly active individuals, athletes, and those dealing with persistent muscle and joint pain. Whether the goal is returning to sport, keeping up with family, or simply moving through daily life more comfortably, Edward is passionate about helping patients build confidence in their bodies and improve their quality of life.
Outside the clinic, Edward enjoys spending time with his daughter, staying active through hiking and strength training, and continuing to learn about human movement, rehabilitation, and performance. A lifelong athlete, he was once ranked Alberta's top high school javelin thrower and continues to enjoy coaching and mentoring athletes of all levels.

As Thrive's Office Manager, Pam knows that exceptional patient care begins the moment someone walks through the door. Having been a chiropractic patient herself, she understands how much a warm welcome, a friendly face, and an organized clinic can shape the overall healthcare experience.
Pam takes pride in creating a welcoming, supportive environment where patients feel comfortable from the time they arrive until the moment they leave. With a confident, approachable demeanour and a commitment to providing knowledgeable, efficient service, she enjoys helping every visit run as smoothly as possible.
